Six things you should know, so you don’t make a mistake when booking a children’s entertainer
1. Invitations – To be sent out at the right time is crucial to a party being successful. Three to four weeks before the party is a good time to send out invitations, but if it’s an Easter or Christmas party you may want to do it a few weeks earlier to give guests plenty of notice. You can print invitations free of charge if you go to my web site www.magicbob.co.uk for children’s entertainer magic bob Birmingham.
2. Always give guests the right information – provide your guests with the post code for the venue so they can put it in their sat nav, if they have one. Simple instructions on how to get to the venue should also be provided. Mobile phone numbers are very helpful, so they can contact you if they are lost. Advise guests of the times the party is starting and finishing. Is food being provided, so no one eats beforehand and can plan their day ahead?
3. Include a RSVP – Always ask guests to return their reply to the invitation, so you are able to plan how much food to provide and prepare. Also make a list of the children and perhaps create some name stickers so you can identify them. This also of great help for your children’s entertainer. (This is included on Magic Bobs invitations)
4. Check the references of your entertainer – it’s a good idea to check reviews of your children’s entertainer on their website. Has he or she been DBS checked, have they got their electrical equipment PAT tested? Recommendations from other parents can be very helpful. (Magic Bob has all of these)
5. Public Liability Insurance – All good entertainers should carry full Public Liability Insurance. Equity is a good source of this and some venues will ask for evidence that the equipment has been PAT tested.
6. Children’s entertainers can be booked up very early at Christmas, New Year and Easter so ensure you book early to avoid disappointment.
